Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC) Exam

About the Program

Irrigation professionals are encouraged to increase their expertise through certification. This 2-day venue provides informative training and review of intermediate to advanced contracting knowledge to assist those interested in obtaining the "Certified Irrigation Contractor" status through the Irrigation Association.

About the Course

This is a two-day irrigation review course intended to refresh existing skills and provide irrigation professionals with an understanding of areas and topics with which it is expected a competent irrigation contractor will be proficient in. Exams will be held the following day but attendence is optional as the exams may be taken at any time and at any Irrigation Association exam location.

The Irrigation Association recommends that participants study the CIC manual before taking the class to identify areas where you may wish to focus on in class. The CIC manual may be obtained from the Irrigation Association (www.irrigation.org). Attendee's are required to register and submit payment 30 days in advance and must be prequalified with have at least one year of irrigation related experience and three years irrigation related field experience.

About the Exam

To become a Certified Irrigation Contractor candidates must pass a written exam consisting of 180 multiple choice questions. The exam lasts 4 hours and is scheduled to take place the day after the course ends, starting at 8:00am, but may be taken at any time.

Exams must be registered for separately with the Irrigation Association, the cost for the exam is $295 for FIS and IA members and $395 for non-members. Visit the Irrigation Association CIC Overview for more information about the exam.
